Ordinary Seaman - Providence

Futurist Investments Guyana Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Ordinary Seaman for current and upcoming opportunities supporting Guyana’s oil & gas and industrial projects. The role will support marine activities across onshore and/or offshore assignments, with a strong focus on safe execution, quality, reliability and effective project delivery.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine deck duties including housekeeping, line handling, lookout and basic maintenance.
• Assist deck officers and senior ratings during mooring, cargo and marine operations as directed.
• Inspect and maintain deck equipment, tools and safety gear within assigned duties.
• Participate in drills, watchkeeping support and emergency-response activities.
• Maintain safe work areas and report hazards or equipment defects promptly.
• Comply with STCW, vessel procedures and marine HSE requirements.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification/certification: STCW / seafarer documents.
• Relevant experience: 1–5+ years.
• Demonstrated capability in Deck operations, safety.
• Strong understanding of HSE, permit-to-work and safe-work practices relevant to the assigned role.
• Ability to work at offshore/project locations and meet applicable medical, safety and rotation requirements.
• Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills; able to work effectively in a multicultural project environment.
